More about Peggy
Following her dream to study yoga in India, Peggy embarked on a 14 month solo journey around the world at the age of 29. Prior to India, a post genocide orphanage in Rwanda won her heart and she stayed several months volunteering there. Finally arriving in India, she met BNS Iyengar and joined him for an intensive study of Ashtanga yoga. She went on to Nepal to teach English and began meditating with Tibetan monks there. She later discovered a Buddhist Vipassana meditation practice in Thailand which continues to influence her yoga teaching today. It was on the world journey that Peggy had an auspicious (and romantic) first meeting with her traveling German husband, Albo, in the Indian Himalaya. Together they are raising two beautiful children in Arcata, California and continue to enjoy global travel as a family.
For ten years Peggy has enjoyed life as a mother, massage therapist and yoga teacher. In 2001 she was introduced to Anusara yoga and her practice was profoundly transformed. Peggy studies with the founder, John Friend, and is a certified teacher of Anusara Yoga®. Her students enjoy her heartfelt, skillful yet playful style of teaching. During an Anusara yoga teacher training in Atlanta, Peggy happily met her kindred sister, Christine. Through their combined inspirations, World Family Yoga was joyfully born.
